Pioli resigns as Fiorentina manager, Di Francesco remains an option

Stefano Pioli has resigned as manager of Fiorentina. La Viola announced the decision of the former Lazio manager on their official website, just 24 hours after they confirmed that Pioli would remain on as boss despite a recent lack of results.

Pioli spoke to ANSA about his decision saying: “I have always assumed my responsibilities and have always guaranteed professionalism, respect and maximum commitment in my work. Today, I reluctantly I see myself forced to leave, resigning, because my professional and, above all, human abilities have been questioned”.

Ex-Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco remains amongst the favorites to take over in Florence.
