Perotti pleased after Sassuolo scalp

Diego Perotti in the mixed zone after scoring in Roma 3-1 Sassuolo:

What did you think of your performance as well as the team’s?
I think we had a great match. We could have scored more than two goals in the first half and luckily we found the third in the second half. After Cagliari, we knew what could happen if we dropped our heads, so we did not give them anything. They were in a good moment so it wasn’t easy for us. For me, it was a very emotional match after what I’ve been going through, so I’m very happy.

What did you make of this negative period?
When the results do not go your way, everything becomes more difficult. There were matches where we deserved to take all three points, then there were others in which we could not finish off the match.

Is the crisis over?
Only the results will tell us that. We can not think that everything is resolved with today’s victory. There’s one match left in the first round, so we have to keep winning but I think that playing the way we did today that results will come.

You celebrated your goal under the Curva.
I had so much energy inside of me. I was anxious during those few minutes as they reviewed with VAR. I got my energy out that way – I needed to hug my teammates under our curva.
