Ziyech: “I had an agreement with Roma”.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: Roma wanted Ziyech. The Giallorossi made contact for him, courted him, and even obtained the “yes” from the player – with an offer of almost €3 million (net) per season. Except in the end, Roma abandoned the track. His fate? Remaining at Ajax with an adjustment to his wages. Yesterday, the Moroccan spoke to Ajax TV and admitted: “I had an agreement already in place with Roma, but there was not one between the Giallorossi and Ajax. It’s a pity, I would have liked to go, but it was not possible.”

Is it all over, then? For now yes. Ziyech also confirmed, “In January, I won’t consider a transfer, I will stay at Ajax. If you go to a new team, you have to do so at the start of the season.”

If that truly is the case, Ziyech’s name will continue to swirl and be linked to Roma until next summer.
