Champions League – Monchi: “It would have been better and could have been worse.”

Roma sporting director Monchi spoke to Sky Sport following the Champions League draw. These are his words:

How do you leave here knowing who is in your group?
With a smile, it could have been better and could have been worse. We have to respect the teams in our group because we have Real Madrid, who are champions, while CSKA are strong and Viktoria will have great motivation, they will be dangerous.

How do you improve this team?
We’re working for not only the Champions League, but also the league and Coppa Italia. We know the season is long, we’ve tried to improve our depth. I think the desire is within the team to do better than last season.

Will it be a different Roma against Milan? How motivated is Di Francesco?
I think he’ll find the right motivation and I think we will see more of the team we saw in the second half against Atalanta. We have already forgotten about that first half.
