Di Francesco likely to return to the 4-3-3

Corriere della Sera (Valdiserri): To return to the Champions League next season, Roma need to accelerate. In regards to number of points earned against the top seven, Roma has, so far, the lowest average points: 0.88 — while Napoli have the highest: 2.28. The first match between Roma and Napoli ended 0-1 for the Neapolitans, with a goal from Insigne, who took advantage of an involuntary assist from De Rossi. In that first half, Di Francesco tried the 4-2-3-1, without believing in it too much, and Roma played very badly. In the second half, he returned to the 4-3-3 and Roma did better, forcing Reina into a couple of decisive saves. For this reason, Di Francesco will rely again on his favorite formation (the 4-3-3): “I listen to everyone, but then I make the decision. Education should not be mistaken for a lack of personality. If I see that the group is not following me, I will be the first to say ‘Goodbye’, but, so far, we have always shared and discussed everything.”

If Di Francesco is going out, he will do so on his own terms as he will use Dzeko, De Rossi, Strootman and Nainggolan, who’s still recovering from the blow he sustained against Kessie.
