Holiday for Rudi Garcia, but his future remains in doubt

Ansa: Rudi Garcia has gone on holiday, however, the Frenchman’s future at Roma remains in doubt.

After the victory over Genoa, there were some whispers surrounding the club that the Frenchman may have spared himself from being sacked. Despite the win and three points in hand, it’s still possible that Rudi Garcia will not take charge of Roma after the break. Reportedly, Roma president James Pallotta is still considering making a change at manager, particularly as there are aftereffects lingering from the Giallorossi’s embarrassing knockout from the Coppa Italia at the hands of Spezia.

Even though there is still uncertainty surrounding Garcia, sporting director Water Sabatini is carrying on with business as usual. After sending Juan Iturbe to Watford on loan with an option to buy, Sabatini is now working on reinforcements to bring to Rudi Garcia’s disposal. Francesco Totti and Kevin Strootman will be the first “additions” to the Frenchman in January, and it’s possible there will be a few more transactions made between purchases and sales.
