Report: Marcello Lippi in pole position to replace Garcia

A newly released report from La Gazzetta dello Sport claims for Italian national team boss Marcello Lippi is in pole position to replace Rudi Garcia at Roma.

Reportedly, the Giallorossi’s hierarchy held a video conference this morning with president James Pallotta early in the morning to discuss how to move forward as Roma are currently in a crisis after another embarrassment. The directors and Pallotta want to take their time and make decisions with a cool head. However, after Pallotta’s declarations on Roma’s official Twitter account where he apologized to the fans for the result against Spezia, Rudi Garcia’s time at Trigoria seems to be up. The discontent of the fans from social media to the radios is being heard: the club wanted to give Garcia a chance on Sunday against Genoa, but it now appears the club is ready to make a change sooner the later. The frontrunner for the job? It’s former Juventus and Italian national team manager Marcello Lippi.
