Roma interested in Torino fullback

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Carlo Laudisa, Roma have contacted Torino over a possible move for Italian fullback Matteo Darmian.

Laudisa tweeted this evening that Roma’s Sporting Director Walter Sabatini has made initial contact with the Turin based club for the versatile fullback.

The potential move comes as no surprise considering Maicon’s fitness levels and doubts over Ashley Cole’s ability at left back. Darmian can play on the left and right flanks and was a part of Italy’s 2014 World Cup campaign.

Recent reports have emerged from SportMediaset journalist Alfredo Pedulla that Torino President Urbano Cairo met with Sabatini again this evening to discuss Bruno Peres and Salih Ucan but that the main reason for the meeting was to discuss Matteo Darmian who the Giallorossi are intent on signing “at all costs.”
