Report: Mourinho allows Cech departure

According to Portugese journalist Gonçalo Lopes, Chelsea manager José Mourinho has allowed goalkeeper Petr Cech to leave the club and that a deal with Roma should be completed within the next few days.

Roma have been linked to the Czech international for several weeks but the former Inter manager denied that he would allow Cech to leave the club during the winter window. After months of poor performances from goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis, it became clear that the Giallorossi must get an upgrade between the posts if they wanted to win the Scudetto – and now, it appears that one of the world’s best could be on his way to Roma. It’s unclear how much Roma will pay for the Chelsea goalkeeper, but it is likely that the player will have to accept lower wages in order to join the capital club.

With an uncertain future at Chelsea, Cech could become Roma’s new goalkeeper.
