The Daily Mirror: Cole-Sabatini to meet this week to discuss future

British outlet The Daily Mirror claims that Roma defender Ashley Cole will meet this week with sporting director Walter Sabatini to discuss his future.

Reportedly, Sabatini is expected to tell Cole that “he is free to find another club and relegation-threatened Crystal Palace were interested before they parted company with manager Neil Warnock last week. If new Palace boss Alan Pardew gives the go-ahead, the Eagles may revive their interest. But Cole would have to take a significant cut in wages to make a return to London happen or hope that Roma will subsidise a deal.”

Roma manager Rudi Garcia has denied that Ashley Cole will leave the club, however, it is unlikely that, given the Frenchman’s preference of José Holebas at left-back, the Englishman will be content with a back-up role at the club.
