Kevin Mendez discusses move to Roma

Penarol forward Kevin Mendez spoke to Radio Uruguay about his impending move to Roma. The young forward will move to Serie B side Perugia on-loan for 6 months before joining the Giallorossi in the summer.

“What I know is what has transpired in the press and the internet, they (Roma) bought 90% of my card and we are finalizing the details to understand what will be my fate. Before Roma I’ll go to Perguai? This is a chance that seems to be the safest option, right now. We’re at the final details, I think it is a matter of hours or, at most, days. Right now we’re just waiting for the final details. Right now, I have mixed feelings, on one hand I’m sorry to leave my country, I am sad to leave the team of which I am a fan of. I would have liked to have played here more, to experience more and win titles with my club. But on the other hand, this is a major leap for my career. I will play in Europe, in one of the major leagues in the world. Coming to Italy is a dream”
