Il Corriere della Sera: Sabatini has two priorities for the market

According to today’s edition of Il Corriere della Sera, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has two priorities for the upcoming transfer market: purchasing the other half of Radja Nainggolan’s rights and acquiring Spurs defender Vlad Chiricheș.

Roma paid nearly €9 million to acquire 50% of the rights to Nainggolan (€3 million for the loan and €6 million for half of the card) and will look to buy the remaining half in January to avoid complications in the summer. Reportedly, Cagliari are asking for €10 million but the Giallorossi hope to lower their price to around €7 million, making the total cost for Nainggolan nearly €20 million. Roma and Cagliari have an amicable relationship so the likelihood of the two clubs coming to terms is very high.

Sabatini has also, reportedly, set his sights on the young Romanian defender Chiricheș, who has fallen out of favor in England. The Roma sporting director will propose a 6 month loan with an option to buy for €8 million, a deal that Tottenham would likely accept.
