Pallotta appears on Roma Radio: talks Stadio della Roma

Roma president James Pallotta appeared on the club’s official radio station this afternoon and spoke of the latest developments for the Stadio della Roma, here are his words:

What was your first thought yesterday when the resolution was approved?
It took a long time and it was a relief to have the approval and to be able to go ahead with the project, now I would like to educate people who voted against it, because many things have been said that are not true. I want everyone to be in favor of this project.

How important is the stadium for the future of Rome?
If you are from Rome – that stadium is critical, and if Roma want to continue to stay at the highest levels in Europe and the world, the stadium is a key element. For the team it is very important, for the fans it’s very important, revenues are not the most important part because they will be reinvested in the team. Our goal is to make the stadium the most secure world: we want tourists to the stadium. When the airport is re-done it will be an element that will help us a lot. The stadium is part of a total project of Rome.

The team is also growing well…
I’ve always talked about a 5 year project, in the long term because this is also a part of the stadium. We changed many things like with Rudi, Sabatini and Massara, I expect to get into the Champions League and I believe we will again. We would be first in the league if it wasn’t for small things like the injuries of Castan and Strootman – who I should remind everyone will not be going to Manchester United. I think the rest of the team and players will continue to fight for the Scudetto and the Champions League for many years.
