AS Roma returned to winning ways after defeating Chievo Verona 3-0 this evening at the Stadio Olimpico. Roma are now tied at the top of the Serie A table as they await the result of the Bianconeri’s trip to Emilia-Romagna to face Sassuolo. The Giallorossi won’t have time to dwell on their victory, as they’ll host German champions Bayern Munich in the capital on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Roma didn’t waste any time in attempting to forget their defeat to Juve as Rudi Garcia’s men took only a few minutes to get their first goal of the match thanks to a beautiful headed goal from Mattia Destro, who scored his third goal in his third Serie A start of the season.

Roma dominated Chievo throughout the match as Eugenio Corini’s men had no answers for Roma’s possession-based tactics as they saw only 28% of the ball for the entire 90 minutes. The Giallorossi continued their parade of goals in the first half thanks to a strike from Adem Ljajic and a penalty from Francesco Totti.

Roma continued to dominate possession of the ball throughout the second half as they were in cruise-control as Corini’s men resorted to shooting from outside of Roma’s penalty-area. The Venetians’ efforts were to no-avail as they were not able to come back from their 3-0 deficit from the first half as Rudi Garcia & Co. won the match 3-0.

Roma’s next league match will come next Saturday as they travel to face Genova-based club Sampdoria.
