Daily Mirror: Newcastle will sell Yanga-Mbiwa to Roma

British tabloid The Daily Mirror has released a report today regarding on-loan defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. Last week, Roma Press released exclusive details confirming the Chronicle Live’s report on Roma’s intent to purchase Yanga-Mbiwa outright from the Magpies. Today, there is further confirmation of Roma Press’ and Chronicle Live’s initial reports:

“Newcastle will sell Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa – despite his brilliant form on loan at Roma. The defender has turned in some excellent displays in Serie A and the Champions League after joining the Italian club on loan in the summer.
He put in a near-faultless display as Roma drew 1-1 with Manchester City at the Etihad last month and Roma’s 3-2 defeat to Champions Juvenus on Sunday was their first of the season. His exit has been one of many sticks with which fans have beaten under-pressure boss Alan Pardew, as Newcastle’s current defence struggles this season. But the Magpies’ management still believe the France international is ill-suited to the Premier League – especially when dealing with balls in the air. So they have decided to cash in, with a £5.5million deal already agreed with Roma, who had paid a further £1m loan fee in the summer. The Geordies have conceded an average of two goals a game so far, and will search for two new centre-backs in January.”
