Roberto Mancini expects a good match between Roma and City

Former Inter and Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of his former team’s match against Roma in the UEFA Champions League tomorrow evening.

Mister Mancini, what kind of match are you expecting?
A spectacular match. Manchester City football practice a different calcio with respect to the rest of England: an infinite amount of passing, the ball on the ground, and the ability to switch their attacking patterns from central to out wide. Roma plays with the ball, like it used to be. City aren’t like United from a few years ago with nothing but running. This could be an advantage for Roma.

The best tactic to hit City?
The key is to start fast and take advantage of the opportunities that City allow. You have to be careful in defense, (you must have) concentration for 90 minutes and be careful in attack.

Is City that much superior to Roma?
Roma are more complete to beat City, but the absences of De Rossi, Castan, and Astori make them more vulnerable. I’ve seen that Iturbe has been called: he can create problems for City. On set-pieces they can be devastating.
