Two superb second-half goals propelled Roma to a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona this afternoon at the Stadio Olimpico. Roma now enter Tuesday’s Champions League match atop the Serie A table with a perfect 5-0-0 record in the league.

Roma found it difficult breaking down Verona’s extremely defensive tactics, as Andrea Mandorlini was more than willing to give the Giallorossi the bulk of the possession – his team saw very few chances throughout the match, but when called upon Morgan De Sanctis was up to the task as they club’s entered the break deadlocked at 0-0.

Roma’s patience in Verona’s half would finally pay-off as newly introduced Alessandro Florenzi hammered home a perfectly-placed strike past young goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, who was punished again nearly 10 minutes later as Mattia Destro caught the youngster out of position and scored  from over 40 yards out to seal the victory for the Giallorossi.
