Rudi Garcia Press Conference

Earlier this afternoon Roma manager Rudi Garcia gave a pre-match press conference ahead of Roma’s next league against Hellas Verona on Saturday.

“I really liked the team’s approach in the Parma game and of course Pjanic showed, in the 88th minute, how great he is and what he can bring to this team. After a year at Roma I’ve personally managed to get closer ties with the city and everyone who works at the club.”

Garcia also opened about his team selection for tomorrow and some of the injury concerns.

“Paredes is ready to start. His time will come. Castan? He’s coming along nicely and wants to get back and help the team out in any way possible. Dunga’s comments on Maicon? We’re obviously very happy to have a player of Maicon’s ability at the club.”

“The guys will need to be 100% focused on Verona tomorrow and I’m sure that they will be. You can’t assess the league after four games, at this stage I’m only thinking about our next opponents, Verona. We’re not distracted by the Champions League, like I’ve said my players have already shown they are able to focus on only the next game in front of them.”

Garcia finished the press conference by joking about captain Francesco Totti’s upcoming 38th birthday.

“Let’s not remind Totti how old he actually is. He feels as if he’s still 28. He’s a freak of nature physically and he’s a professional off the pitch too.”
