Totti reaffirms Scudetto ambition

Roma captain Francesco Totti spoke with Roma TV and reaffirmed the club’s goals and objectives for the season:

Florenzi said early in the season the aim was the Scudetto…

At the beginning of the season, you have goals and important objectives are the Scudetto, the Champions League, and the Italian Cup, a competition that is smaller but it’s still a cup. It’s easy to talk now about a lot of things. Eventually, the field gives the final results.

Is the gap with Juve filled?

Juve is a defending champion, they didn’t sell and they reinfoced. Currently we are the second team, the team to beat if Juve, let’s just say that last season we let go and there was too much of a difference. We’ll try to reduce it this season.

Who will win the Champions League?

Real or Chelsea seem the best equipped to win. We will try to do our best and to do well against everyone. But in football, you never know…

Who can undermine Roma and Juve?

Inter can be annoying to everybody. They’re reinforced and are a great team and have a great coach. At the moment, I put them as the third team.

Of the new purchases: who impressed you most?

It’s not nice to say that in public. They are all important players in their own way different. I’m glad that the director Sabatini has brought these players because we can have a really great season.
