Rudi Garcia’s men remained perfect in Serie A as Roma beat former manager Zdenek Zeman’s Cagliari 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

It took only three minutes for Roma to claim the spoils thanks to goals from Mattia Destro and Alessandro Florenzi, who celebrated by going into the stands and hugging his grandmother — a celebration well worth the yellow card.

The Giallorossi kept Cagliari, under the attacking prowess of Il Boemo, at bay for nearly the entire match. The only real threat came from Luca Ceppitelli as he got a head on Diego Farias’ free-kick, but only managed to but the ball over the bar.

Roma looked more-than-likely to continue their form into the second half, but efforts from Maicon, who fired off target early in the second half, and Gervinho, who was ruled offiside went astray. Cagliari increased their pressure on the ball and it nearly paid off as Marco Sau found himself with a chance, but Morgan De Sanctis kept his cool, leaving his area and heading away a potential 1 on 1 situation with the young forward.

The win keeps Roma at a perfect 3-0-0 in Serie A and tied atop the table with Juventus.
