Exclusive: Updates on the future of Tin Jedvaj

Roma Press has spoken gotten an exlusive look into the future of Tin Jedvaj, who has been in phenomenal form with German club Bayern Leverkusen.

The Croatian defender, after being used sparingly by Rudi Garcia last season, joined Bayer over the summer on a two year loan with an option to buy (Roma have an option to counter Bayer’s purchase option). Jedvaj already has a goal to his name and has been in fantasic form for Roger Schmidt’s men and, according to Roma Press sources, sees his future with the German club and, as of now, does not envision returning to Roma. The Giallorossi, however, don’t see this as a major concern because there is a player on the German club that they really like: right-back Giulio Donati. Walter Sabatini held informal talks with Rudi Völler, the German club’s sporting director, regarding Donati earlier this summer. One scenario that’s possible is Roma using Jedvaj as a negotiating piece in bringing the former Inter man back to Italy.

Roma will continue to track to progress of both Jedvaj and Donati and will consider their options next summer. Donati is said to be open to a return to Italy and if Jedvaj’s intention is to remain in Germany, it’s very likely that a permanent deal could be struck with Roma and Bayer swapping the two players.
