Roma Press Roundup: 25 August, 2014

Several outlets reported today that Roma have completed deals for Mark Basa and also Olympiakos’ Kostas Manolas. These reported deals come on the heels of Mehdi Benatia’s reported move to Bayern Munich after the Moroccan rejected Roma’s contract offers.

Transfers were also completed today for young striker Valmir Berisha and young midfielder Matteo Ricci . Another Roma target, Carlos Carbonero, has also, reportedly, agreed to go to Cesena on loan after initial reports suggested he was against the idea of joining a newly promoted side.

As Roma’s match against Fioretina approaches, Juan Iturbe reiterated how important this season would be for him, while Mario Gomez of Fiorentina, who will be without Giuseppe Rossi on Saturday, acknowledged that the match against Roma will be a challenge for La Viola.
