Baldissoni hits out at Tavecchio election

Roma general manager Mauro Baldissoni was visibly upset when leaving the Ata Hotel in Milan after disgraced, racist candidate Carlo Tavecchio was elected the new president of the FIGC. Here are his words to Sky Italia:

The rift?
“Neither candidate had important support. Coming to a third election is never a good thing. Now the ball passes to those who must propose initiatives. It’s all up to them to start the work.”

Lotito has been taken under the president’s arm: would you be surprised to see him as the vice-president?
“It’s not my style to comment on Lotito. We don’t cross path.”

Did you expect a different result?
“We expected the election of Tavecchio at the third round of voting, and so it happened.”
