Reports: Destro wants to stay

Despite a large offer from German club Wolfsburg, Mattia Destro has made his intentions known to Roma: he wants to stay, according to TuttomercatoWeb.

The former Siena striker, who scored 13 goals for Roma in nearly half of a season, was offered a significant wage increase by the German club, who also offered Roma a fee of nearly €25 million. Destro, however, is not keen on a move to Germany and wants to remain in Italy and play in the Champions League with the Giallorossi.

Many Italian outlets have reported that Roma will need to sell either Destro or Adem Ljajic to help cover their spending this summer, with the Serbian being the name most likely to depart the club. Reportedly, Ljajic is being tracked by Schalke 04, Dortmund, and Atletico.
