Corriere dello Sport: Roma ready to renew Destro

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport claims Roma are ready to extend the contract of Mattia Destro.

Destro has been one of the hottest names on the transfer market and has been sought after by English and German clubs, most notably Wolfsburg. The German outfit has offered Destro a salary of €3.5 million net per season, but the striker isn’t convinced by the club. Roma have already spoken to Destro’s agent, Renzo Contratto, to discuss a possible extension and salary increase that is closer to what the Germans have offered.

Roma, as of now, have not considered selling Destro. Wolfsburg have only offered €20 million for the player, but, reportedly, if they increase their offer by another €7-€8 million, Roma will at least sit down and consider the possibility of selling Destro. This scenario, however, seems unlikely so it appears the Giallorossi are ready to discuss a renewal with Mattia Destro and keep him in the capital.
