Emanuelson elaborates on Roma move

Dutchman Urby Emanuelson spoke with Radio Radio this morning about his switch to Roma after his contract with Milan expired:

What didn’t work during your Milan experience?
“I’m not a Milan player, I have to think about doing well with Roma.”

What’s happened to the Rossoneri?
“I do not know, it’s difficult (to explain). Milan is changing, they’ve got a lot of young players but it’s a difficult time for them.”

What role do you prefer?
“I’ll play left-back like I’ve already done with Milan. But here, we have a much different way in playing (it) and I have to learn how the team plays. We’re working well in training and I hope to improve.”

Why have you only signed a one year contract?
“I asked to make a contract like this. I came here for free to demonstrate to Roma that I’m a good player. In order to stay here longer, I have to do well, then we’ll see what happens.”

What are your impressions of Garcia?
“The coach is a good coach, he’s quiet. He’s always here to win and he always says, ‘We have to win!’

A comment on the incident with Strootman…
“Everyone in Holland was sad. We hope he comes back stronger within three months. We’re always with him.”
