Exclusive: Updates for Tonny Sanabria

Roma Press has spoken exclusively to representatives of Tonny Sanabria, the young Roma striker whose future, admittedly, remains indefinite for the upcoming season.

Sanabria (18) officially moved to the Giallorossi this summer after spending his first 6 months in Italy on loan with Sassuolo due to Roma having no available non-EU openings on their roster. After having spoken with Sanabria’s representatives, it still remains unclear if Sanabria will stay with Roma or go out on loan this season. It is true that clubs have asked the Giallorossi about their willingness to release the young Paraguayan on loan, most notably Cesena and Empoli. But, Rudi Garcia and Walter Sabatini are both hesitant to release the player on loan at this time. Why? Because they both really like the forward, especially Sabatini. Garcia is especially apprehensive to allow to him to leave on loan right now because of what he witnessed last season with Mattia Destro and Francesco Totti: both of whom suffered long-term injuries that kept them out of action for over a month.

As of now, Sanabria will remain with Roma and will not go out on loan, but this could change at any time. One idea that has been proposed to Sanabria and his representatives: stay with Roma until January and if he does not receive enough playing time, he will be allowed to leave on loan from January 2015 until June 2015.

Garcia and Sabatini are willing to wait until the very last day to make a decision on Tonny Sanabria: his future may be in the capital for this season.
