Sky Italia: Updates on Roma

Sky Italia released news on Roma and the market of the Giallorossi this evening.

The first news of the evening arrived from Sky Italia’s Mario Giunta, who reported this evening that Roma and the representatives of Mehdi Benatia will meet within the coming weeks to discuss a restructured contract for the Moroccan, who is looking for a significant wage increase. After turning down offers that fell short of their €40 million valuation of the player, the former Udinese man looks set for a long-term stay in the capital, which was confirmed by Rudi Garcia, who commented earlier today that Benatia will not be sold.

Gianluca Di Marzio then reported that Roma have made an official offer for Monaco’s Ferreira Carrasco. The Giallorossi, reportedly, tabled a €3.5 million for the Belgian winger, who is out of contract with the Ligue 1 outfit next summer. Monaco are hoping to sell the player for €5 million so it’s unlikely Roma’s offer will be accepted.

Di Marzio then released another report on his website saying that Roma are currently awaiting the decision of Sao Paolo of whether or not they will accept the Giallorossi’s offer for Rafael Toloi, who is hoping to return to the capital after his six month loan stay ended with Roma unable to find a deal with Sao Paolo.
