Genoa meet Roma to discuss Borriello

Acorrding to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio Genoa and Roma have met to discuss potential deals.

Reportedly, Genoa President Enrico Preziosi met with Roma officials to discuss a potential move for Marco Borriello. Borriello, who has spent a number of seasons with the Grifoni, is being touted as a possible replacement for China-bound Alberto Gilardino.  Despite Preziosi publicly denying that Genoa would not make a return for Borriello, he was definitely discussed with intermediaries from Roma. Roma and Genoa negotiated earlier this window for Stefano Sturaro but the young midfielder ended up moving to Juventus for 5.5 million (plus bonuses).

Despite Roma’s inability to sign Sturaro, the relationship with Genoa is still very positive and a deal for Borriello could be reached.
