Zeman not bitter over Roma spell

Former AS Roma coach Zdenek Zeman has spoken to the media following his appointment as the new Cagliari manager and has weighed in on matters that affected his tenure at Roma during the 2012/13 season.

“It wasn’t me who couldn’t stand him [De Rossi], but maybe it was that he couldn’t stand me. That’s different. I have always tried to work.”

“I’ve been in football for 40 years, I don’t need to take revenge on anyone. I feel that I did well at Roma but perhaps some might not agree. We won against Inter and Fiorentina and we reached the Coppa Italia final. We also increased the value of our squad to around 90 million euros.”

“Totti and De Rossi have done a lot, they are important players but things don’t always end well. You can’t always get what you want.”
