Roma increasing the pressure on Jermaine Lens

Roma-based news outlet Il Messaggero has insisted this morning that Roma and Walter Sabatini are pushing harder to acquire Jermaine Lens of Dynamo Kyiv.

Lens, a Dutch international and former teammate of Kevin Strootman at PSV, admitted before the World Cup started that it’d be wise for him to leave Ukraine due to the intense political and societal problems plauging the country, “The situation is not simple. Although us players are well protected, for safety reasons, I was not able to bring my family. I’m thinking about the future. It’d probably be best if I went away, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

Roma are, reportedly, attempting to bring Lens to the capital as they see him as a more affordable option versus Juan Iturbe and Alessio Cerci. Kyiv will likely ask between €9m-€11m for the player.
