De Rossi talks from Brazil

Daniele De Rossi spoke directly from training with the Italian national team and spoke to awaiting reporters. Here are his words:

You’re at your third World Cup, what does it mean? A goodbye to Pirlo? You said you were emotional…
“Yes, the World Cup is an event that stays with you throughout your life. Even in South Africa, I remember it like it was yesterday. Pirlo? I’ve spent 10-12 years on the Nazionale with him, even being his roommate. Him leaving after the World Cup affects me. Pirlo leaving the Nazionale especially affects me when I think the last match of this WC will be the last time we play together.”

You don’t like social networks (laughs)…
“No, this is a delicate conversation. I don’t publicly use social networks. I use Facebook under a different name so I can communicate with friends and family.”

Why fear Costa Rica?
“We have to be a little scared of Costa Rica since they surprised everyone with the win against Uruguay. We play at one o’clock in the afternoon in a climate that’s much more difficult for us to stand.”
