Garcia interrupts vacation for summit with Sabatini and Baldissoni

Accirdubg to this morning’s edition of Il Corriere della Sara and also confirmed by Il Messaggero, Rudi Garcia has interrupted his vacation in Andalusia to meet with sporting director Walter Sabatini and general manager Mauro Baldissoni regarding the transfer market.

Both news outlets are reporting that the meeting was called so Roma can plan a “raid of players” during the World Cup. Sabatini is ready to give Garcia more control of the transfer market and the manager has one request: a team that is ready to win now. Sabatini, who was skeptical on Gervinho but was proven wrong by Garcia, is ready to fulfill Garcia’s first request: Marko Basa. The Montenegrin will soon be a confirmed player of Roma. Reportedly, Garcia’s next request is Salomon Kalou, a player who scored 14 goals under Garcia at Lille.

While Garcia will have more influence in the market, Sabatini will continue to “go out on a whim” with players that intrigue him: evidenced by Roma’s strong interest and close pursuit of Salih Uçan. Roma’s market is beginning to take shape, Garcia and Sabatini are ready to buy.
