Benatia backs Garcia, wants to remain in the capital

Roma’s Mehdi Benatia has backed manager Rudi Garcia after the Frenchman’s war of words with Juventus manager Antonio Conte:

“The mister (coach) has voiced his opinion, there is nothing wrong with that. We aren’t a provincial club, soon we’ll prove that. There is a bit of regret despite having had a great season, there really isn’t an 8 point difference between us and Juve. The Scudetto for Juventus, however, is deserved. My future? I don’t want to leave Roma but the club and the manager will decide this. I would leave if there were economic problems and this would help the club, but otherwise, I’ll stay. ”
