De Sanctis speaks out against racism

Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis attended a fundraiser today to raise funds for cancer reasearch and spoke to the media:

“The fight against cancer has no color. The racism at the match towards Dani Alves? I was watching the game too, by the way I played alongside Dani Alves (while at Sevilla) and I felt sympathetic because of these offenses that he went through, I regret what happened to him. Racism is something we must talk about, I naturally associate it with a great ignorance. Sports have repeatedly tried to dissociate themselves with any forms of discrimination. We must continue with provactive actions to combat these behaviors. There are still a lot of types of discrimination that harm us: they must all be fought so we can have a better society.
