Roma plan for the summer

AS Roma hierarchy  will meet in America this week to discuss a number of issues, one of which will be the budget for this summer’s transfer window.

According to Leggo, President James Pallotta will provide Sporting Director Walter Sabatini with 25 million euros to spend on new players in the upcoming transfer window. Although Pallotta is keen to improve the squad for the Champions League, it’s being reported that Roma management do not intend on revolutionizing the squad like they have done in previous summers. In fact, since the American ownership took over, only Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Taddei have remained.

Roma will look to finalize Rudi Garcia’s new contract and have it signed in July before the team depart for their summer tour of America. Leggo also reports that Roma are waiting to sign Tottenham midfielder Paulinho, but the deal is dependent on whether Pjanic agrees to a new contract.

Roma have also continued talks with Davide Astori, Davide Santon and Juan Iturbe. Sabatini is also set to meet with Jackson Martinez’ agents who are due to land in Italy this week.  Offers are expected to arrive for Medhi Benatia this summer but in order to keep Garcia happy, the Roma executives are willing to reject any offers for the Moroccan.
