Strootman: “Trust me, I’ll be stronger”

Injured midfielder Kevin Strootman was in Holland to take in the match between PSV and Feyenoord and spoke to the press regarding his injury:

“Trust me, I’ll be stronger than before. I feel good, in life, there are worse problems. It wasn’t easy in the beginning because I realized that I’d be missing the rest of the season with Roma and the World Cup. But now, I’m working with my physiotherapist and I’m only thinking about returning to the field. I will try to return as soon as possible. In the meantime, I’ve enjoyed the support from the people of Rome, which was incredible. I didn’t expect it. The team is very strong and I can not wait to come back to play the Champions League. The World Cup? I’m sorry, but it’s already happened. I’m only focused on my recovery and I’ve been thinking of all the players who have overcome this injury, it’s certainly one of the most annoying ones, but they came back in better shape and more mature than before. This will happen to me.”
