Nainggolan pleased with Roma move

An interview with Radja Nainggolan was released today to those with an AS Roma membership, here are the Belgian’s words:

You were suspended for Roma-Parma, but after arriving three months ago, it seems your relationship with the group is strong.
“I am very good here in Rome. I’m joined by an extraordinary group.”

So you’ve found a positive balance? Have you become close with any one particular?
“Yeah I’m fine here. We are a strong team. I’m tied to everyone here , but it’s obvious you’ll speak to some people more and others less. I’d say I have a really close relationship with Benatia and Florenzi.”

Do you expect applause or boos (in Cagliari)? It’ll be a thrill for you…

“I’ll certainly feel emotions when I step onto the field. I’m not sure if I’m waiting to hear boos or applause, but the Rossobl├╣ fans know that I have always honored the jersey and they have always treated me well. Perhaps some won’t be happy that I left in January while leaving the team in a low ranking position.”

Roma has not won at Cagliari in 19 years, do you think you can reverse this negative trend?
“It will be a tough match because Cagliari feels a lot for matches against Roma for various reasons. They need points and can’t fail, and we … we have to win to stay up there in the standings.”

You obviously know them well, what are their strengths and weaknesses?

“They are very good on the counter they like to take advantage of their speed from the beginning. They’re a team that plays with intensity. Their weak point could be defensively, especially on set-pieces.”

So it’s a match that is in reach for Roma?
“If we play like we know we can, we’ll get a result. We have quality. We are a team isn’t afraid of anyone.”

Even Juventus? Can you catch them?

“I’ve always said that as long as the math does not condemn us, we must try. It’s difficult, of course, because Juventus hasn’t missed a beat.”

Before saying goodbye: a prediction for Sunday?
“We hope to win (grins).”
