Nainggolan feeling tense at facing old side

Radja Nainggolan has admitted he is feeling tense at the prospect of facing his old side Cagliari at the weekend, “it will be strange”, he said.

The Belgian midfielder, signed on a co-ownership deal by the Giallorossi from the Sardinians in January, took to Twitter to announce his feelings over returning to the Stadio Sant’Elia as an opponent on Sunday afternoon.

“I’m tense, it will be strange to see my former teammates”, he revealed on his official Twitter account.

This will be the first time Nainggolan will have played against Cagliari since his move to the Capital, and he is likely to return to Rudi Garcia’s starting 11 after being forced to sit out the midweek win over Parma through suspension.

That win allowed Roma to close the gap on Juve to 8 points and with the Bianconeri not in Serie A action again until Monday that lead would be reduced further to 5 points with a win on the island, something Roma have not managed since 1995.
