Di Marzio Claims Roma Will Add to Their Attack

Sky Italy and mercato journalist Gianluca Di Marzio spoke this afternoon about the potential market moves of Roma for the summer.

Who could be the replacement for Strootman?
“We’ll hear about many names from now on, it is too early to say. But there are certain profiles that Sabatini likes, such as Sandro and Paulinho. However, players who have just arrived at Tottehnam are unlikely to leave the English club. Not to mention that it’s difficult to buy players from the Premier League. But relations between the two clubs are very good and it is not impossible that something can happen. Paulinho is more like Strootman, Sandro is a player who acts as a screen in front of the defense.”

It’s true that the priority of the next market of Roma will be an attacker?
“Roma wants to buy a great striker, I can confirm this. For the Champions League, it is required. I know that in the early talks that Sabatini had with the various agents and brokers that the profile of the attacker is the one that showed up more and more in his speeches. It will for sure be a great striker, we’ll have to wait and see if the striker is a younger guy or a more experience one.”

What other department will be adjusted?
“I think they will buy a player that can take over for Gervinho or Florenzi on the wing. I think a player like Iturbe is the perfect profile. The Argentine has not yet closed with anyone, but he wants to remain in Italy. There is already an auction, because both Roma and Juventus and Inter have asked for him.”

Ljajic’s departure at the end of the year is this possible?
“It’s too early to say, although we expected more from him. He’s a discontinious player, he will give or take. Sabatini and Garcia will make a list of who has convinced them or not. The financial statements, however, are made only at the end of the year, not the beginning of March.”
