Match Summary
Roma dropped more points this evening as they lost their second match of the season in Naples 1-0 to Rafa Benitez’s men. The loss reduces Roma’s lead in 2nd place to just 3 points but the Giallorossi still have a game in hand over Napoli.

Jose Callejon scored the lone goal of the match in the 81’minute as Rafa Benitez’s men continue in their quest for second place.

From the beginning, the match was very open from the start. Roma looked the fit to open the scoring in the opening 45 minutes but Mehdi Benatia’s header was ruled offside.

Roma continued to waste chances as both Gervinho and Michel Bastos were denied by incredible Pepe Reina saves, which was a continuing theme throughout the night by the Giallorossi.

As Roma continued to waste their chances to grab the lead, Jose Callejon finally made Garcia’s men pay as Alessio Romagnoli was caught ball-watching and he headed the ball past Morgan De Sanctis, ensuring the three points to the Southerners.

Roma must now recover for next weekend’s match as the Giallorossi host Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico.
