Match Summary
Roma were held at home by Inter as the Giallorossi missed a crucial opportunity to gain ground at home on Juventus. The match lacked complete flow and temp due to referee Mauro Bergonzi calling a total of 33 fouls in the match.

Roma and Inter seemed equal in their opportunities to score, with the Giallorossi, perhaps, having a few more chances than Walter Mazzarri's men. The clear opportunities for Roma came from Mattia Destro, who was ruled offside, and Miralem Pjanic, who was denied by a great save by Samir Handanovic.

Morgan De Sanctis was hardly ever called upon, simply because Bergonzi was whistling for a foul whenever each team found their way into the penalty area. In the end, the game and fans were left as the real losers simply because of Bergonzi's inability to allow the match to be played.

Roma will now travel to Naples next weekend to take on Rafa Benitez' men in a second vs. third showdown.
