Burdisso Says “Goodbye”

Nicolas Burdisso spoke to Centro Suono Sport before departing Roma for Genoa, the club he was recently sold to by the Giallorossi.

“It ends just as I’d hoped. It’s the right time, I knew it was the right time to leave. I had never thought of leaving Rome before, but playing is the most important thing for a footballer,” Argentinian defender Nicolas Burdisso told Centro Suono Sport leaving Rome to reach Genoa. I have never had such a strong competition here in the team, but it is good for the club and for the group. I’m very happy. These are particular months in which I’ve grown up quite a bit. I am hoping for the World Cup, but my career is the thing that matters most. Before the injury (to his knee in 2011) I started for the national team and I want to reclaim my spot. In Roma, I’m leaving a piece of my heart.”
