Borriello to West Ham on Loan

More movements in the market for A.S Roma, this time it is for out of favor striker Marco Borriello. Borriello, who joined Roma in 2010, has been relegated to the bench this season due to the superb form of Francesco Totti and Mattia Destro and was eager for a move away from the capital in order to receive more playing time.

The former Milan man will move to London-based club West Ham United on a straight 6 month loan, which does not include a purchase option. It has been difficult for the Giallorossi to find suitors for the striker due to his high wages (€5.4m gross/season), so loan moves for the striker were the only feasible options.

Borriello will take a medical this weekend and is expected to be at the disposal of Sam Allardyce for West Ham’s away match against Chelsea on January 29th.
