Summary:

Roma left little to chance against Livorno as the Giallorossi outclassed the Tuscany-based club 3-0 in a decisive win at the Stadio Olimpico before their important rematch with Juventus on Tuesday in the Coppa Italia.

Roma took little time in getting on the score-sheet as Gervinho picked out Mattia Destro in the box and the striker was able to easily slide the ball past on-loan goalkeeper Francesco Bardi who, despite the disparity in score, was outstanding for Livorno.

Kevin Strootman then doubled the Giallorossi’s lead after 35 minutes when he connected with a Francesco Bardi save and put Roma up 2-0. Throughout the first half, Roma controlled the tempo, possession, and pace of the match as they enjoyed 72% of the possession in the opening 45 minutes and entered the break up 2-0.

The second half saw very little change for lowly Livorno, who were not able to force Morgan De Sanctis into a save the entire match. Adem Ljajic put the icing on the cake with a cool finish and sealed the 3-0 victory for Roma in the 79th minute.

Roma will meet Juventus on Tuesday at Stadio Olimpico for their quarterfinal Coppa Italia encounter.
