Burdisso Set for Genoa

Roma centerback Nicolas Burdisso is set to join Genovese club Genoa, ending his 4.5 year tenure with the Giallorossi. The former Boca Juniors standout admitted today that he will leave Roma in order to receive consistent playing time in the hopes of regaining a World Cup recall.

Roma Press has received confirmation from two separate Italian agents that Burdisso will move forward with Genoa’s offer. Burdisso currently earns €4.5m (gross) per season with the Giallorossi and will have to take a major paycut in order to join Genoa. The rumored terms of the contract are said to be for 1.5 years and between €1.5m-1.75m per season.
