Gasperini Ready for Roma Challenge
- Updated: 11/01/2014

Gian Piero Gasperini, Genoa manager, spoke today, the day before his team’s encounter with second-placed Roma.
“Against Roma, it will be a tough challenge for us, the Stadio Olimpico of the Giallorossi is a field that is historically difficult but the numbers are meant to be proven wrong, three points would put us in a situation of absolute peace and we are determined to do well. We are going through a good moment of form and against Sassuolo I saw a good athletic Genoa in terms of the concentration and on Sunday we will have a tough challenge which is full of potential pitfalls, but we know that in football everything is possible and a win would put us away from unpleasant surprises,” said the manager.
He continued, “Roma will certainly want to bounce back from the defeat in Turin but the front office has found a trained and compact group . Antonini? He has recovered and will be next to Portanova; Calaiò leads the front and he deserves an important chance. The market? Regarding Marquinho, the company has made this possible but now it is up to the player to make a decision.”
