Roma Beat Samp, Set for Rematch with Juventus

Roma beat Sampdoria 1-0 today in their Round of 16 Coppa Italia tie at the Stadio Olimpico. The lone goal for the match was scored by rightback Vasilis Torosidis, who was able to slide the ball past the in-form Fiorillo of Sampdoria. The match offered very little excitement as Roma saw their abundance of opportunities wasted by misplayed passes, crosses, and shots — most notably by Adem Ljajic and Mattia Destro.

Roma will meet Juventus in the quarterfinals on January 21st with the winner of the tie potentially facing Lazio.
