Genovese Teams in for Marquinho, Borriello

A pair of Genovese clubs are said to be interested in the services of two Giallorossi players, the names: Marco Borriello and Marquinho.

The former Milan and Genoa striker is on the radar of Sampdoria’s manager Siniša Mihajlović. The Serbian, who recently took charge of the club, is looking to reinforce his newly implemented 4-2-3-1 formation with strikers since their main striking option, Manolo Gabbiadini, has been moved to a wider position on the pitch. Samp will look to acquire the player on loan with a purcahse option, an operation the Giallorossi would likely agree to. Borriello may be also be used to help bring Samp’s Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang to the capital in the summer.

Another Genovese club continues for Roma’s Marquinho, who is said to be the commodity wanted by Genoa’s Gasperini to play on the left flank. Genoa are close to officially selling winger Luca Antonelli to Napoli and Gasperini sees Marquinho as the ideal replacement. Although Marquinho is not entirely convinced of the move, Gasperini will try and sway the player’s mind with the promise of more playing time than what he is currently getting with Roma.

Roma will continue to push for these move since the players are not rated highly by Rudi Garcia. Many replacements such as Radja Nainggolan, Marco Parolo, and Javier Pastore have been rumored to be the ones who will take the spots of the outgoing Borriello and Marquinho.
