Analysis:

Roma looked to get back to winning ways as they hosted Serie A newcomers Sassuolo at the Olimpico.

The Giallorossi went right to work in trying to find the opening goal. Miralem Pjanic and Marco Borriello looked like the candidates who would open goalscoring. However, the opening goal that put Roma up 1-0 wasn’t even scored by an A.S Roma player, as Alessandro Longhi scored an own-goal in the 19th minute.

The tide seemed to turn for Roma when Marco Borriello was taken down by a vicious tackle and was taken off the pitch — adding another name to Roma’s injury crisis.

As the second half commenced, Roma were gifted with opportunities but the Giallorossi were unable to cash-in as Gianluca Pegolo was superb throughout the match.

Just as Roma looked ready to claim their 3 points, Michael Bradley foolishly gave the ball away and Sassuolo made Roma pay as Domenico Berardi buried a goal at the death to claim a 1-1 draw.

Roma remain at the top of Serie A but it is evident Rudi Garcia has some major regrouping to do after consecutive draws with low-table teams.
